Chauncey comes from a family deeply rooted in ski racing, with parents who found success in the sport yet remained humble throughout their journey. Despite their background, they never pressured Chauncey or his brother to follow in their footsteps. Instead, they were supportive and pleased when both sons naturally gravitated toward ski racing. For Chauncey, the sport became more than just an interest, it became his life's sole pursuit.
While ski racing shaped much of his upbringing, college marked a pivotal moment of personal growth for Chauncey. It was the first time he found himself outside the familiar world of ski academies, surrounded by people from different backgrounds. When challenges arose, knowing that his teammates had his back made all the difference. Leadership, too, proved to be a defining factor.
